07/11/2008 Relevance: 6.06In this article, I attempt to catch a menu choice error quickly and redirect to a common error page template. Despite this being my preferred route I was dissatisfied with its execution. I later abandoned this code for a simpler option. Nonetheless, I think it is instructive showing you attempts that fail. Very oddly, I now think I know how this might be accomplished. However, I am limiting myself here to tested methods; I may get to it later. Until then this and the next article desmonstrates tested approaches including their misdirections.Search further
06/20/2008 Relevance: 5.81Finally, the so called 'stable' version of Wine, 1.0, has been released on June 17, 2008. The last Wine review I made was to 1.0RC2 (release candidate 2), in which I already tested World of WarCraft, mIRC and DC++. I had no issues with World of WarCraft (tested using a trial account) which performs very well, without any visible problems, DC++ has minor stability problems and the mIRC scripts editor crashes, but otherwise, mIRC behaves good enough.Search further
09/03/2007 Relevance: 5.66There's been a lot of debate in the community about how OSI should properly handle Microsoft's planned submission of some of its licenses for OSD certification. That debate has been been going on within OSI, too. OSI's official position, from the beginning, which I helped formulate and have expressed to any number of reporters and analysts, is that OSI will treat any licenses submitted to Microsoft strictly on their merits, without fear or favor. That remains OSI's position. But...But I find that my resolve is being sorely tested.Search further

I'll show you how to do it. These have all been tested on my Aastra 57i phone. It should work on the 55i as well. I am not sure what will work on other phones. Some things will and some things won't. This should work on trixbox and pbxinaflash as well but I haven't tested it. I may create my own RPM but for now I will show you how to set it up manually so you can get a better idea what is going on.Search further
10/15/2007 Relevance: 5.57For this article we've decided to not only deliver power benchmarks from Ubuntu 7.10 and Ubuntu 7.04 to compare the tickless kernel effect, but we have went back and retested all of the Ubuntu releases going back to Ubuntu 5.04, or also known as Hoary Hedgehog. With the past six Ubuntu releases we had tested the power consumption of a Lenovo laptop when running from its AC charger and off the battery, when the system was idling and then again under load. We had also monitored the temperature of the Intel Centrino mobile processor. You may be surprised by the results of Ubuntu's power usage.Search further
