Master-Master Replication With MySQL 5 On Fedora 8

02/19/2008  IIIIIIII
Relevance: 11.88
This document describes how to set up master-master replication with MySQL 5 on Fedora 8. Since version 5, MySQL comes with built-in support for master-master replication, solving the problem that can happen with self-generated keys. In former MySQL versions, the problem with master-master replication was that conflicts arose immediately if node A and node B both inserted an auto-incrementing key on the same table. The advantages of master-master replication over the traditional master-slave replication are that you do not have to modify your applications to make write accesses only to the master, and that it is easier to provide high-availability because if the master fails, you still have the other master.

MySQL Master Master Replication

10/08/2006  III
Relevance: 9.44
This tutorial describes how to set up MySQL master-master replication. We need to replicate MySQL servers to achieve high-availability (HA). In my case I need two masters that are synchronized with each other so that if one of them drops down, other could take over and no data is lost. Similarly when the first one goes up again, it will still be used as slave for the live one.

ISO Master - GUI Tool to edit ISO Images in openSUSE

08/15/2008  III
Relevance: 8.77
ISO Master which is claimed to be the best ISO editing tool is a graphical editor for ISO images. ISO Master is useful for extracting, deleting, or adding files and directories to or from an ISO image. ISO Master can read .ISO files (ISO9660, Joliet, RockRidge, and El Torito), most .NRG files, and some single-track .MDF files and can save and only save as .ISO.

Setting Up Master-Master Replication On Four Nodes With MySQL 5 On Debian Etch

Relevance: 8.26
This tutorial explains how you can set up MySQL master-master replication on four MySQL nodes (running on Debian Etch). The difference to a two node master-master replication is that if you have more than two nodes, the replication goes in a circle, i.e., with four nodes, the replication goes from node1 to node2, from node2 to node3, from node3 to node4, and from node4 to node1.

Multi-Pointer X Merged To X.Org Master

05/27/2008  III
Relevance: 7.79
Earlier this month we reported at Phoronix that Multi-Pointer X was going mainline with the planned merge to master date being the last week of May. Peter Hutterer has remained on track with this goal and as of last night, Multi-Pointer X (or MPX for short) can now be found in the X Server master branch...

OpenOffice.org Impress: Using Master Slides

08/23/2008  II
Relevance: 7.78
The Master view in Impress is the equivalent of page styles in Writer. It's the view where you can set elements of design that appear throughout your presentation, such as the slide background and foreground colors, any reoccurring elements, and the fonts. By creating the master slides you need before you add content, you can automate your work and free yourself to focus on content.

Cooler Master CSX Gargoyle

06/03/2008  II
Relevance: 7.68
Earlier this year we had looked at the Cooler Master Cosmos S, which was a very nice EATX chassis and had taken the Cosmos 1000 to the next level. While we were not most fond of the Cosmos S aesthetics, the Cooler Master case we are looking at today is unlike any other we have ever reviewed. The case we are looking at is the CSX Limited Edition Gargoyle.

Intel's GEM Merging To Master

06/13/2008  I
Relevance: 7.18
Intel's Eric Anholt has announced on the dri-devel mailing list that they are getting close to merging GEM to master. There was one last bug hitting the GEM folks but that seems to be worked out and the Intel engineers will proceed to merge GEM to master in all three repositories. GEM, or the Graphics Execution Manager, is a memory-management implementation spawned a month ago by Intel to address the shortcomings of the TTM memory manager, which has been in development and the talk of many X.Org video driver discussions for the past few months...

Cooler Master Cosmos S

02/28/2008  I
Relevance: 7.18
Back in August we looked at the Cooler Master Cosmos 1000, which was a very well designed EATX chassis that ultimately received our Editor's Choice Award for its excellent build quality, stylish design, and its feature-set. Just a few days ago, however, Cooler Master had unleashed the Cosmos S chassis. The Cosmos S RC-1100 is based upon the Cosmos design, but features a new racing theme, touch-sensitive panel, and various other improvements. The RC-1100 is meant to be the "Sports" version of the Cosmos 1000. In this review, we're looking at the Cooler Master Cosmos S as we load it up with an Intel 5400 EATX server motherboard and other high-end server hardware to see how this case really performs.
