I finally gave in and admitted we need Drupal. So, on to installing Drupal 6. No hosting location I work with has it on the auto-installer, so on to manually doing it.

Drupal vs. WordPress: Which is better for blogging?

03/22/2007  III
Relevance: 9.54
How do Drupal and WordPress, the leading content management systems for blogging, compare for the average user? To find out, Linux.com used a preconfigure Drupal site from Bryght and a free site from WordPress.com to set up two similar sites. We compared the interfaces, the basic tasks of customizing a site, adding content, managing comments and spam, and reading site statistics, as well as the other available options. A pattern soon emerged. Consistently, Drupal offered more fine-tuning and tools for managing multiple blogs, while WordPress, although less configurable than Drupal, proved easier to use and navigate.

09/14/2008  IIII
Relevance: 9.06
This guide explains how you can install Drupal 6.4 on a lighttpd web server on Debian Etch. Drupal comes with an .htaccess file with mod_rewrite rules (for Apache) that do not work on lighttpd. Without this .htaccess file it is not possible to have clean URLs in your Drupal installation. Fortunately there is a way to make lighttpd behave as if it could read the .htaccess file.

03/18/2008  II
Relevance: 9.05
In the last year, a growing number of companies based on free and open source software (FOSS) have come out of stealth mode. One of the latest is Acquia, which provides services for organizations that use Drupal, the popular content management platform."Until now," says Jeff Whatcott, Acquia's vice president of marketing,"there hasn't been a Red Hat or Ubuntu of the Drupal world." Acquia plans to fill that gap by selling subscription services that will improve what Whatcott calls the"few rough edges and gaps" in Drupal, at the same time that the company establishes itself in the eyes of community.

Fear and Loathing in Open Source Marketing

03/01/2008  I
Relevance: 9.02
Drupal recently made a deal with the devils (venture capitalists) by virtue of the a $7 million investment in Acquia. Acquia owns the Drupal brand (or at least legally they do). Drupal lead (and Acquia co-founder) Dries Buytaert and the fine people at Acquia along with their backers are now at the crossroads faced by every vendor who sells free softwareÂ… How do they supply a return on their investment without recommitting the sins of their proprietary software brethren or alienating Drupal - Open Source CMS the community that so far has driven their success.
