If you still dig the old-style arcade games, you owe it to yourself to check out Kobo Deluxe, an improved version of XKobo with sound and better graphics. I ran across Kobo Deluxe when I was looking for a game similar to Namco's arcade classic Bosconian. Your mission? Blow up the fortresses and move on to the next level, to ... blow up more fortresses. OK, so it's not exactly Shakespearean story development, but what do you want from a retro arcade-style game anyway? Right -- fast-paced action and an ever-increasing high score, which Kobo Deluxe delivers in spades.

It's well known that Jmicron JMB 363 SATA PATA controller is not currently supported by RHEL AS 4 U4 , what causes failure to intstall RHEL 4.4 from IDE CDROM on the box built up on ASUS P5B Deluxe MB. Work around for this issue follows bellow.

Last October we had looked at the ASUS P5E3 Deluxe motherboard that was designed around the Intel X38 Chipset and it had arrived with its share of ASUS innovations such as ASUS AI Lifestyle, Crystal Sound, and EZ DIY. In addition, this was the first motherboard on the market to feature DeviceVM's SplashTop, or Express Gate as it's called on the ASUS motherboards. Today at Phoronix we are looking at the updated version of the P5E3 Deluxe, which is now called the P5E3 Premium. The ASUS P5E3 Premium is similar to the earlier Deluxe model but is now engineered around Intel's newer X48 Chipset.

RTL8110SC/RTL8111B (vs Marvell 88E8056 first NIC integrated on ASUS boards) are GLDv3 NICs and may be used for Solaris xVM PV and HVM DomUs creation at Solaris (Nevada) Dom0. However, disabling checksum offloading on Linux DomU front end network driver (eth0) is required to get network on DomU.

Xen 3.1 Binary installation on CentOS 5.0& ASUS P5B Deluxe

Attempt to use compiled binaries might fail sooner or later due to hardware issues. Fortunately, 2.6.18-xen kernel does understand the hardware assembled on ASUS P5B Deluxe and Marvell Yukon Gigabit Ethernet in particular. Actually, it means that any board based on (I965+ICH8R) or (I975+ICH7R) would be in general OK for Xen 3.1 Binary installation , but may have trouble with Ethernet Adapter.

ASUS Motherboard Ships With Embedded Linux, Web Browser

The good folks over at ASUS have sent over the P5E3 Deluxe, which is based upon Intel's new X38 Chipset and continues in the usual ASUS fashion of pushing new (and often unexpected) innovations onto the motherboard. Without spoiling the review of this motherboard that will be published shortly, the ASUS P5E3 Deluxe is one of the most innovative motherboards we have seen to date and it packs one very exciting and unusual feature. Embedded onto the P5E3 Deluxe is a Linux environment that features a Firefox-rebranded web browser and the Skype VoIP client! Within five seconds of turning on this $360 USD gaming/enthusiast motherboard, you can be using Linux and surfing the Internet. On this motherboard the feature is known as ASUS Express Gate, which is powered by something called SplashTop. SplashTop is an instant-on Linux desktop being created by DeviceVM. SplashTop isn't even launching for a few more days (October 10), but in this article we have more details on this embedded Linux environment as well as screenshots and our thoughts with what will hopefully come next for this Linux environment.

RTL8110SC (vs Marvell Yukon) is GLDv3 NIC and may be used for Solaris xVM PV and HVM DomUs creation at Solaris (Nevada) Dom0. However, straight forward attempt to install SNV DomU in DHCP mode will time out at DHCP request phase due to failure checksum offloading on Realtek 8110SC.
